Nebraska families should be able to keep more of what they earn. Jana has supported meaningful property tax relief, helped lower state income tax rates and worked to scale back unused programs and wasteful government spending.

She will continue fighting for a simpler, fairer tax system, responsible state budgets and policies that make Nebraska more affordable for families, farmers, seniors and small businesses.

Strong Schools and Empowered Parents

As a former school board member, Jana understands that schools succeed when teachers can teach, students can focus and parents are meaningfully involved in their children’s education.

Jana supported legislation requiring schools to address student cellphone distractions, giving parents greater access to school library information and strengthening parental notification regarding student surveys. She also supported the Stand With Women Act to preserve fair opportunities for women and girls in school athletics.

Protecting Children and Personal Privacy

Technology is changing rapidly, and Nebraska’s laws must keep pace. Jana has supported stronger safeguards for children online and greater protection for the personal information of Nebraska families.

Her record includes protecting genetic information from misuse, requiring reasonable age verification for websites distributing material harmful to minors and establishing age-appropriate standards for online services used by children.

Safer Communities and Accountability for Criminals

Jana believes Nebraska law should protect victims, hold criminals accountable and provide law enforcement with the tools necessary to keep communities safe.

She supported enhanced penalties when illegal controlled substances cause serious injury or death, stronger and more consistent protection orders for victims of abuse and harassment, and greater authority to investigate fraud, abuse and neglect involving residents of health care facilities that receive Medicaid funding.

Jana also supported legislation recognizing unborn children as victims in motor vehicle homicide cases.

Defending Constitutional Rights and Election Integrity

Jana will always defend the constitutional rights of law-abiding Nebraskans. She supported constitutional carry legislation protecting the right of eligible Nebraskans to carry a concealed handgun without obtaining a government permit.

She also supported implementation of Nebraska’s voter identification requirement, helping protect confidence in the state’s elections while providing options for eligible voters to obtain acceptable identification.

Defending Nebraska Values

Jana is proudly pro-life and believes Nebraska should protect those who cannot protect themselves. She has supported legislation recognizing unborn victims and has consistently stood for policies that strengthen families and preserve Nebraska’s traditional values.

She also supported the Stand With Women Act, protecting fairness and equal opportunities for women and girls in athletics.

Protecting Consumers and Young Nebraskans

Jana has supported commonsense regulations aimed at keeping dangerous and unregulated products away from children while establishing clear standards for businesses.

That includes creating a regulatory framework for kratom products, regulating nitrous oxide, strengthening oversight of vaping products and establishing a manufacturer registry for electronic nicotine delivery systems.
